L. & J.G. Stickley is a furniture manufacturer founded in 1900 and headquartered at 1 Stickley Drive, Manlius, New York. The company makes fine solid wood furniture in Mission and modern styles, spanning living room, dining room, bedroom and office collections, plus rugs, lighting and decorative accents.
Stickley states that approximately 90% of its furniture continues to be manufactured in the United States, and that over 90% of its products are handcrafted in Upstate New York or Archdale, North Carolina. The company operates three facilities: the Manlius, New York headquarters producing solid-wood furniture; an Archdale, North Carolina plant producing upholstery; and a factory in Vietnam.
The company manufactures nearly every piece to order, citing the range of finish, fabric and leather choices available. Production of most custom orders takes 8–10 weeks, with delivery averaging a further 2–3 weeks depending on geography. Pieces move "step by step from the cutting room right through to the finish and trim departments." The Selectionals upholstery program is made to order, offering sofa, loveseat, chair, sleep sofa and sectional frames with dozens of arm, back and base options.
Complimentary design services are available at company showrooms, where designers help create made-to-order pieces. A Corporate Trade program offers trade pricing on casegoods, upholstery and rugs, supported by a dealer/designer portal, free memo samples of fabric, leather and finishes, and a purchasable trade handle of roughly 150 fabrics and leathers.
