Oak City Customs is a custom furniture and fabrication manufacturer in Zebulon, North Carolina, just outside Raleigh. The shop was founded in 2015 in a home shop in Southeast Raleigh, acquired a sawmill later that same year, and moved into its Zebulon facility in fall 2017.
What sets the operation apart is vertical integration: the company describes its process as "From Tree To Table®," running its own sawmill, kilns, wood shop, and metal shop under one roof. The sawmill cuts slabs up to 63" wide; two custom-built dehumidification kilns dry approximately 11,000 board feet of wood per month; the wood shop planes and sands material up to 50–52" wide on a double helical planer and wide-belt sanders, with a 5'x10' CNC router. The metal shop adds CNC plasma cutting, press brake work, tube and angle rolling, and welding — letting the shop fabricate a table's top and its base without subcontracting either.
Materials center on locally sourced urban trees — oak, maple, poplar, cedar, sweet gum, cherry, and walnut — alongside exotic tropical woods, metals, and epoxy resin. Products include dining and conference tables, epoxy river tables, wood countertops, shelves, mantels, bench seats, custom table bases, and outdoor pieces including aluminum pergolas and garden planters. The company also sells live-edge slabs and dimensional lumber directly.
Oak City Customs serves both residential homeowners and commercial clients — architects, designers, builders, and contractors — and as of 2026 is organized with design, production, and installation teams. A showroom operates at the Zebulon facility.
